Aug 7th Cairo to Dahab, Egypt

One hour later after I wrote my entry from last night, we got on a night bus and went Dahab, Egypt. The reason why me and my mom left Cairo is because Cairo was a bit scary. And because it was so aggressive there, the traffic, the people..it felt like my brain was starting to split apart and I told this to my mom all kind of delerious. I also told her
Cairo was making me feel homesick like I wanted to go home. So my mom, like a good follower, took Nico the great to a place that resembles the Bahamas but is known in Egypt for it's coral reefs and diving. WE were on the bus ride and it was about eight hours. I slept for about 6 hours. When we arrived at our location I had to go to the bathroom so bad that we had to stop by a nearby camp. There were 3 bathrooms and luckily one was open. The damage I did on the bathroom was devestating. After I was done my mom brought me took me to a pharmacy where my mom got me diareea pills. The pills were huge and hard to swallow.

WE looked around for a good place to stay. Alot of them were really bad and cheap, or really good and cost alot. But we found a hotel that was just right for us. When we were done wewent snorkeling and made friends with the dive master inside of the shop. The place that we went snorkeling was very fun and it looked cool. There were tiger fishes, and fishes with bright colors, blue and green. But me and my mom went a bit too far and I saw 2 jellyfish swimming by. I looked back at them for a second. Then when I looked forwardI saw a school of them. When one of them stung me I screamed. The pain felt like two bee stings. When my mom heard me scream she didn't know why I was screaming untill she got stung too. WE swam as fast as we could back to the beach. WE were done then so we returned the stuff. While we were walking back to the hotel a little girl tried to sell us a braclet.
She said name you price... I said "five pounds" she said, "ten" then when we began to walk away she said "ok". The braclet I got is really good and I like it.

WE went back to the hotel and I played some chess. Then me and my mom went out to go eat at a place that had pasta. Where I got pasta with spicy sauce on it which isn't really good if you have diareah but I ate it all because I was hungry. As we were walking back my mom just had to stop inside a perfume shop. The guy kept offering her cigaretts and I think it was just so she would stay longer. That day she smoked seven cigarettes when she usually only smokes two. I didn't like the perfume guy because he was twichy like a crackhead. He kept sniffeling and blinking every 5 seconds. My mom ended up buying some perfume bottles from this guy. Then the guy offered me one of these bottles for free. So I took it even though I didn't want it. Then we went home to bed.

Aug 6th Cairo, Egypt

Me and my mom woke up and had breakfast. i was hoping the food would hold me off for an couple of hours. Anyways, I'll be drinking loads of water since Im seeing the pyrimids. We have a special taxi driver that will drive us anywere we want. We also brought a freind along, (he had a huge name but i fogot it so i call him Larry), named Larry. The first place we wanted to go to was the pyrimids where it was 110 farenhight. it wasn't that hot there because the air wasn't moist. There was a bunch of people annoying us,like the camel guy, he would not leave me, my mom, larry, in peace. He kept trying to bargin with us but we kept saying no so he deceidid to follow us.
When he couldnt go any farther he said I'll wait for u at the gate and so he turned back. Another person took my hand and placed it up high. At first i didnt know what he was doing but then he took my mom's camera and started taking pics of me. he was trying to make it look like my hand was on the pyrimid but then he charged us. He took
pictures of me without asking and now he's charging us. We gave him 1 dollor. The pyramids were amazing with so many bricks. It looks like the bricks are small from far away but they are really big up close. We went in one of the pyrimids and saw a tomb. It was hot in the room since it was so moist because of all the people.
When we were done with the pyrimids we tried to go see another wierd pyramid, but it was closed. So we decided to go see a museum were I saw a mummy then left cause the tour guy wouldnt stop bothering us. So we decided to go eat and go back to the hotel.

Aug 5th Tel Aviv, Israel to Cairo, Egypt

So we woke up at Merons and my mom and Meron were having a political arguement about how "Might is stronger than Right". Meron was saying that American entered both World Wars because of money and power. My mom said there was a moral component. I hated the whole thing so I tried not to listen. WE were packing to go to Cairo. Before we left we had to go to the beach because Ali, our friend from Palenstein, was hooking us up with a driver in Cairo so we could see the Pyramids and be safe. I went swimming in the Ocean then we went to the pizza place to talk to Ali. WE could only stay for about 5 minutes then we had to go straight to the train station. Meron drove us to the train staionand we were about 1 second away from missing the train. I insisted on playing black jack on the train ride and my mom kept saying "No, no, no," for 10 minutes straight and then she said yes. But the train stopped at our stop so fast and we weren't ready so my mom got mad and said "listen to me next time", but we got off in time. Wheww.

We went to the airport and took a plane to Cairo. The plane flight was very roomy and only lasted 1 hour. When we arrived in Cairo it wasn't as hot as I thought. It was aprox 90 degrees farinightbut it was also nighttime. My first thought is I dont like it very much. WE almost died crossing the road. There are like a million drivers and noone cares if your crossing the road. They dont even slow down. We found our hotel with some help from a strange, it was nice and we went to sleep.

Aug 4th Nazarath, Israel

My mom and I woke up at 11:30 and we drove in Meron's car to go to Hiafa. When we arrived at Hiafa my mom had wanted to go to The Bahai World Centre but it was under constuction and they only had a tour and we dont really do tours. The people gaurding the front gate only let us in into the first few garden tiers. The first floor had a big fountain and above it there was a stream going down from the steps. The steps were made out of hard marble and on the sides of the staircase there were bushes well trimmed. There wasn't much to see since the building was closed so we went to Nazarath were Jesuss is from.

We went to visit a couple churches and a well where God talked to Mary. The first church we went to was the Church of Assention with a bunch of murals from different countries that all were about Jesus and Mary. There was on mural by China. It was a chinese woman wearing makup holding a chinese baby Jesus. I dont understand how that resembles Mary and Jesus at all. The other church, The church of Gabriel had tunnels in it and thats where people lived then. We also saw the well where god talked talked to Mary. When we were done my mom wanted to cool down in the Sea Galilee. It was fresh water and she said it was refreshing. There were religious Muslim and Jewish people on the banks and my mom in a bikini. The muslim women dont really swim and go in only a little with all their clothes on. I dont know if my mom felt wierd but she looked happy when she was smimming.
It took a 2 hour ride to get back to Meron's house. I watched a movie then went to bed at 2:30 in the morning.

August 3 Jerusalem, Israel

Me and my mom woke at our hotel and went to go see some things in Jerusalmen. The first place that we went to was Mt. zion. We had trouble getting there but a person gave us directions and led us to our destination. When he showed us to the door he said let me show you the rooms and you showed us around the room of the last supper.
It was full of history, over 2000 or 3000 years old. Then he showed us a bunch of other rooms too. When he was done showing us everything and we were out of the back door of the building he said 100 sheckles. That's about $30. He was trying to charge us for him showing us around the building when we didn't even ask for the tour.
We only ask for directions. And he is trying to make us pay $30 directions. We did not pay him because he only asked for directions and as we were walking we saw him do the same thing to the person. The next place that we went to was a Mosque. It was so different than all the Jewish attractions. This was very peaceful where at all
the Jewish attractions there is drums, music, and lots of commotion.I liked it but they wouldn't let us in because only Muslims were allowed to go in.So instead we walked the walk of Christ when he carried the cross. They call this the Via Dolorosa and while we were walking the we met some people. Samy, Dina, Tina,Mya. Samy was the father, Dina was the 14 yr old girl, Tina was 13 and Mya was 10. The Dad is Palensteinian but they all live in L.A. The reason why the mom wasn't with them is because she wasnt able to cross the border. It was because her passport was Palistinian. The girls were all nice and I gave them all nicknames. The last place we went to was the place were Jesus was buried. The Church of the Holy something. After that we had to say goodbye to my new friends. We went home and watched a movie as I went to sleep.

Aug 2nd Jerusalmen, Israel

My mom and I.. (I started off this entry the same but my mom is going to make me change it because she says it's not proper English. I wouldn't change it if I didn't
have to, so sorry. You're taking a hit for all of us, thank you)

My mom and I woke up this morning at Meron's house. Meron is a great guy, along with his lonely life. He drove us to the bus station where we took an hour bus ride toJerusalem. When the bus ride was over we had to get on another bus. This bus ride was quite different from a lot of the bus rides. A little girl threw up on the bus.
It smelled awful, the bus ride for was about a half an hour or more. The throw up was seeping through the seat and it was starting to get onto our bags. I thinkyou heard enough. And if you want more I tell you more. If you don't want to know more. Just skip over the next few sentences. The threw up was awful and it was white
water ish and had clumps of pink stuff in it. It's over now, you don't have to be afraid.

The bus dropped us off at the Western Wall where we had to find our hotel through tunnels. As we went through the tunnels we had to go through metal detectors and they would check our bags. They did that through every tunnel. When we finally found our hotel we were very tired. The entrance to the hotel was made out of all stone.
There was no more private rooms to sleep in but we could sleep on the roof deck. We had to go with that and it was actually really cool. When we are done checking our bags and we went to go explore the city. We saw the Wailing Wall and there was two separate doors to get in there. One door was for the men and one door was for the
women. My mom had to wear a shawl that she brought with her. The men's side was bigger than the woman's side. The people next to a wall hit their heads against the wall while others kissed it and prayed. I thought it was kind of scary.I even saw kids bowing their heads against the wall. After we were done seeing the Wailing Wall we went to Mt Zion and saw the room of the last supper. After that we just walked around in town and looked at the shops. We went to the muslim and Arab markets. My mom bought me a chessboard because lately I've been really into chess.
When we were done shopping we went back to our hotel and played on our new chess board and then went to sleep.

August 1st Tel Aviv, Israel

Me and my mom woke up at Meron's house in Tel Aviv. He's the guy that were staying with. He has a huge collection of movies, about 400 movies and I wanted to see some of them. We were going to a saltwater pool with a saltwater beach right next to it. I thought it kind of dumb to have a saltwater pool right next to saltwater beach.I don't get the difference. One is without sand and one is with sand. If that's the difference then the people that made that pool must have been very dumb. Meron wanted to swim inside of the swimming pool but my and I wanted to go swimming at the beach. So me and my mom left to go to the beach and Meron stayed at the strange pool.

The waves at the beach were really good and the salt water was very salty. When I swimming in the water I hit my head against the sand and it left a really big scrapeon my head along with a bruise. Afte that I felt dizzy then my mom and I went to meet Meron at his friends restaurant. I had the the biggest hotdog In the world.
It was about 18 inches. After the 18 inch hotdog we went back to Meron's house and I watched two movies. I'm lucky my mom had so much to do because Nico time is movie time.

July 31st Athens to Tel Aviv, Israel

Nico and his mom woke up today and gave eachother nicknames and spirit animals. My new nickname is woodchip and my spirit animal is a gecko, my mom's nickname is
shard and her spirit animal is a sparrow. The reason why she is a sparrow is because she flies very fast and is aggressive and protects her young. The reason why I'm
a gecko is because I'm old and young at the same time and because my back is peeling because I got sunburned.
After we were done giving ourselves name this we all went to the airport to catch a plane. The people that I was sitting next to wasn't very nice but whatever,
because the guy next to me offered me minty gum Ice. He looked like he had lice, but he was very nice. But the girl next to me, her heart was made out of ice.
When she had to go to the bathroom she slapped me out of her way. And said, "hey watch it kid". After the flight was over and I was done rhyming me and my mom went
to go to the house that we are staying with and then we all went out to eat. I got some pasta and my mom got pasta too. When we were almost full we went back home and
I watched a movie. As I was watching the movie my back was rubbing up against the couch. Making all my DNA stay on the couch
giving the couch a layer of skin. My mom had to do laundry and stuff like that so I just got to chill. It was nice.

July 30th Athens, Greece

Today we didn't really wake up..or really we never slept. My mom woke me up when we had to get off the ferry in Athens. I was tired, I mean tired..it was 5 something in the morning. We took the subway to Dimitris house where our stuff was from before the islands and went inside. His house is very hot inside but he has good television so I guess it works out. I watchedCrocidle Hunter and my mom told me I had to go to sleep. While she was snoring loudly away some other travellers who were there said they were going to breakfast and to buzz them up when they
come back. OK. I said "OK," but I didn't really know what they were talking about. I woke up to the buzzer and I had to go all the way down stairs to open the door. I went in my boxers because I just didn't really care. My mom was still sleeping and snoring, she didn't notice a thing. I fell asleep again and when I woke up my mom was still sleeping so I watched some more T.V.

She finally woke up which was sad because she said we had to get up and go see The Acropolis. Hot hot Athens. We got to the Acropolis and thats when I saw it...icecream. My mom said after we are done.So we climbed and looked at all these piles of stone and stuff and my mom tells me it's from 500 BC which I cant believe it's still there. I imagine touching it with my hands and it all crumbles down into a pile of dust. So we walked and it was very hot but I used this blue material thing my dad gave me. Its so amazing. You wet it and put it around your neck and no matter what it stays cold. The Acropolis was cool and on top of a mountain where you can see all Athens. Then we went to the Acropolis museum which is where they put all the stuff that they excavated. They were really
good artists considering they were from BC times and there were alot of sculptures. We left the mountain and I got my icecream. Then we went back to Dimitris house and I drank a whole thing of soda.We were all going out for a traditional Greek meal at the restaurant where Dimitris works. They started bring plate after plate. One plate had really small fish that looked like Minows all fried up.My mom wanted me to eat some but I didn't want to try it at all. I got really tired really fast and my mom walked me home which was right around the corner and I watched more TV (yea!) then fell asleep.

July 29th Santorini, Greece

Nico the great and mighty and mom the follower, see I did it, anyway. We woke up and decided to hit the beach early. We got on our four wheeler and start the ride down the twisting road.Today we had to return the 4 wheeler. The walk to the beach takes about an hour which would take me two. She deceided that when we get down to the beach she would drop meoff there and ride back up the whole way to return the quad and then jog all the way down to get to the beach again. The walk that she was going to do is about 4 miles which she was doing the nice thing by not taking me she had said it was the best thing therefore I love her, I love my follower. As I was saying, I waited for her to return.

When she returned she let me go in the water. The waves were huge there. I would jump over the waves or just get hit by them for fun. There was this one wave that was two times as tall as me and
the current engulfed me and sent me out spinning into the water. When I was Back onto the beach I rolled onto the black sand and rested there. Before that the current took me and and I got a huge mouthful of salt water because a little wave pounded me in the face, a little wave, pounded Nico the great and mighty in the face. That day I felt shameful and I had the awful taste of salt, sea salt.

When me and my mom walked back we hitchhiked one time to get to the top of the mountain. She told that in the US this wasn't safe to do but here it was pretty simple and just a way to get somewhere when you dont have a car and its really hot. A family picked us up and then we just went along the road until we got to our place that were staying in. I played a quick game of chess with a guy named Mark and then me and my mom had to leave for the boat. We took a bus to a bigger bus station that would take us to the boat but it turns out that we were three hours early for the bus, usually it's the opposite. We met a girl there from Michigan who was 24.
We all went out to eat and while they ate I played games, like arcade games. It was about one o'clock when we got on the boat. My mom propped up to chairs so that I could sleep on them. I used the blanket that I used from last flight on the airplane. As I was falling asleep I felt rocking motion of the boat swaying me slowly to sleep.

July 28th Santorini, Greece

Nico the great and mom the follower woke up today, to a bunch of people screaming out random Greek words really fast out of a truck. They used a microphone and an amplifier. I don't know why they did that but I think this morning wrote call to wake up everyone. Me and my mom wanted to rent a motorcycle so we can travel across the island and to beach. But were not going to any simple beach were going to a black beach. The sand there is black because of a volcanic rocks. Beaches are made out of lots of tiny rocks and lots of tiny rocks is sand. So if you had a lot of black rocks the black were on this turn into black sand.

We went to go rent a motorcycle with the people that we went to go get the motorcycle from said that you needed a international license. I really don't get why you need international license. Do you need to take a whole different drivers test to get an international license? I just think it's really kind of dumb that one license can't be used around the world. So we try another place they said the same thing. They would let us drive a quad/4 wheeler were no international License. So we got the four wheeler and we drove down the road. The first stop we went to was a winery. WE tried a white wine but I didn't like it. Then we got a red wine
and it was really sweet. It tasted good like candy and sugar syrupey. WE got onto the quad. Im starting to think that everyone drives craxy. The roads are really skinny so sometimes cars can only go one way.
It took us awhile to get to the beach.

When we arrived at the beach entrance I had to go to the bathroom soooo bad. Like really, really, bad..like the kind of bad when you really gotta go. After I went to the bathroom, My mom and I headed down to the back beach. The sand at the beach felt really good, almost like playdough but sandier.
There was alot of people there and the water was really really clear. WE went inside of the water and me and my mom played hand ball where you throw the ball from hand to hand.WE decieded to leave because it was windy and late, as we were driving down the street on our quad I saw a restaurant sign that said burger so we stopped. For some reasonI love burgers on this trip. The burgers here taste good, thats because I think its 100% real meat, not like the meat at home.

After we were done we had to head home and we had to chase the sunset through windey roads. The sunset was going faster than us but it was amazing. It looked as if the sun was melting on the mountain. You could stare at it without gettingbright marks on your eyes. And so when we made it home the place where people gather to watch the sunset was ending but I still got to play a chess game. The chess game was really fun and I totally won like 5 times. Correct that I didn't but still. After the chess games were done I was really tired so me and my mom climbed into our prison beds and went to sleep.

Me and my mom, I'm really sorry but I just have to start this way I really don't know why. Me and my mom, I think why I do that is because it's more it easier to start everything like that but I'll try and mix it up a little bit next time like I'll started with... Nico the great and mighty, and his mom the follower. Something like that.
Continuing where we left. Nico the great and mighty, and his mom the follower, woke up and had some cereal because Nico the great and mighty needs his cereal.
After that me and my mom went to the beach and John met us there the one with the harry legs. We played catch inside of the water with a tennis ball. Then John made me some sausages that tasted like pork. After that I had to say goodbye to John because me my mom were going to another great island. So we got on the bus that was very
crowded because it was full of teenagers that were at the camp. After the bus ride was over me and my mom had to pick out the place that we were staying in. My mom wanted to stay in this nice private room with a balcony that cost the same,I wanted to stay at a youth hostel and that's what I got a youth hostel that looks like a prison.
Like one of those real prisons through. In 18 x 20' foot room fits 18 beds. The people here are nice though and we played cards at night. I've been having this thing going on where every single night I get delusional and I start to fall aslee... please don't eat me mutant slug!(looks at mom).

July 25th Naxos, Greece.

Me and my mom woke up. I dont know why I always start my entries this way I just do. So today we went down to the town to buy some fish. We asked everywhere, "Do you have any fish?"
They all looked at us and said "Are you crazy, its sunday" I agreed with them. We also tried to go to a museum but it was closed. All because it was Sunday, also know as a Greek break day. So when we went back to camp we went back empty handed, except for some half eaten bread (that I tried to fish with), some zuchinis (which they
already had), and some eggplant. We were going to cook dinner with the people in the tent next to us, Kevin and John. Both me and my mom thought they were gay at first. After we knew they we told them and they said, "well thats not good if we are trying to find a girlfriend" and they laughed. Kevin was an old man that always talked about
girls like "oh, those French girls are looking quite nice today..thet should do a piroet, which is a circle. John on the other hand was 29 and he looked 42.

His legs were hairier than life itself. I even did a test by putting an ant on his hairy legs and i said i wouild give him 100 dollars if the ant could find his way to the foot. After an hour the ant grabbed a piece of hair and hanged himself. I suggested to him that he should take off the hair on his legs and put it on his bald head
giving him an afro. But actually, they were both nice guys even Kevin, who I called an sick old man. John cooked us dinner on a camp stove. He's a good cook, not the best though, but good. After dinner we played some chess. the chess was very fun and now I feel addicted to chess. I won a chess game against my mom.
I was victorious. My game straggedy won the game. Then my mom told me I was acting delerious and had to go to bed. All in all, a good day.

July 24th Naxos, Greece (Islands)

I woke up late because of how late I stayed up us last night. But me and my mom went to go to the beach. The sun here is really strong so we had to put on lots of sunblock. When we got down to the beach apparently, apparently... it was a nude beach. There was some old people that went all the nude. If you can imagine it you get it. I don't want talk about it anymore. Very disturbing.

While we were at the beach we brought a tennis ball and ourselves, along with the blanket.
We went and stood in the water and played catch. The game of catch was fun but my mom had to take a break every five minutes. The water was so clean though. Not like the water inside of Massachusetts. It was so clean that you can see straight to the bottom. It was very salty too so it makes you float. While my mom was
taking a break I decided to make a fortress. About to foot away I built a Castle. But the water was rising too fast and it was going to get my kingdom. So I decided to make a fortress. In part of the Castle I made a huge wall. After the huge wall I made a Gap. Then I made a bunch of random little mountains along the
way. About four rows and a ratio of 3 to 6 in each row. Let me explain. The mountains and the very front of the fortress makes the waves slow down because of how it's hitting each mountain slowing down. The gap made all of the water fall into it so that the water couldn't get out. The wall stopped all the water even if they got through
all of that it would stop right there. Leaving the Castle unharmed.

We took a stroll down the beach after she was done with her nap. Along the way we saw a person that
does tubing and my mom said that she would try and get me to do that tomorrow. But not today. So we went home. Had some dinner. I took a shower. Then I read my whole book. We played crazy eights with some people in the tent next to us. Then I went to sleep on my sunburned back.
